Despite my keenness for many variations of the 1007, I decided to scrap my 75,000 mile 1.6 auto as it was becoming unreliable in this hot summer.
Few things can be worse than causing a traffic hold-up in a narrow and very busy A-road than a dead 1007. :-( I believe the problems occur as the clutch wears and the clutch actuator then has to work much harder, overheats and the thermal trip operates. Then become very unpopular and wait patiently for 30 minutes and all is well . . . . . .
So the thought of the costs of a new clutch, possibly a new actuator and setting up afterwards plus one or two costly "advisories" and for me, the only sensible answer was to scrap it. :-(
