I would always aim to get a suspended tow - so at least the front wheels were off the ground.
But if not possible, then according to the Driver's Handbook, you can tow at up to 30mph (50km/h) for up to 30 miles (50km) out of gear as both auto and manual versions have the same manual gearbox.
