SWIMMING SESSIONS

 We have a few spaces now in the beginners groups: 
 Tuesdays 4.30pm; Thursdays at 4.45pm; Saturdays at 4.00pm; Sundays at 4.00pm 

The Dolphins have a policy of continuous movement between groups throughout the year as performances improve.  Most groups take Safety and Survival awards at their level of ability.

Cost per session held at £5.00 (September 2018 onwards)

Approximate targets for each group in 2020/2021 are:

Level A: Initially unable to swim

Most progress to Water Skills 2 and 10 metre awards

Tuesdays 4.30pm to 5.10pm
Thursdays: 5.00pm to 5.40pm
Saturdays: 4.00pm to 4.35pm
Sundays: 3.15pm to 3.50pm; 4.00pm to 4.35pm

Level B: Initially able to swim 10 metres

Most progress to Water Skills 4 and 25 metre awards

Tuesdays: 5.20pm to 6.00pm
Thursdays: 5.50pm to 6.30pm
Saturdays: 4.45pm to 5.20pm
Sundays: 4.45pm to 5.20pm

Level C: Initially able to swim 25 metres

Most progress to Water Skills 6 and 100 metre awards

Thursdays: 6.40pm to 7.20pm
Saturdays: 5.30pm to 6.05pm
Sundays: 5.30pm to 6.05pm

Level D: Initially able to swim 100 metres

Working up to Learn to Swim stage 8 and Rookie Lifeguard awards

Tuesdays: 6.10pm to 6.50pm
Saturdays: 6.15pm to 6.50pm

Level E: For older non-swimmers up to age 11

Working to gain confidence and safety in the water

Sundays: 6.15pm to 6.50pm

All Dolphins groups operate according to ability and not age and I will always listen to appeals for "promotion".   Please let me know if you are unhappy with any of the arrangements; I try to be as accommodating as possible - but can't always be perfect!

As a general recommendation, children progress noticeably better if they have two sessions a week - it gives them less time to forget in between!  Sadly, the effects of COVID-19 make this impossible for the time being.
